A day in the life

One of the things I love about working at Kiddy is the varied nature of the projects I am involved with. Although our three core service lines are quite defined there are a multitude of opportunities. Our clients demand excellent work, and there is always the opportunity to stretch myself professionally.

Let me give you a flavour…

This morning started with a feedback session on a recent assessment project that we have run with a FTSE 250 business across a number of countries using our proprietary assessment software, KaPture. The multi-cultural nature of the programme means we have been conducting assessments and feedback sessions round the clock in four different continents. It was a very productive session leading to development actions and next steps. I will look forward to catching up with the client next month to review progress.

As the business grows we all have the opportunity to be involved in how it is shaped, and next on the agenda was an internal meeting to discuss how we ensure the best opportunities for professional development within the business. A number of initiatives have already been launched, and today we have set the agenda for the priorities for the next six months. I am involved in a project looking at how we share learning within the company.

I was recently involved in designing and facilitating a leadership development programme with a global group of companies, working with its senior leaders to equip them for the commercial challenges they face in their roles. I am now coaching two of those leaders to help them to embed these skills moving forward. Having a call this afternoon, I spend some time preparing over lunch.

Last thing was a meeting with a prospective new client. An online retailer, and household name, we are all excited about the opportunity and have been preparing for the last couple of weeks. Myself and a partner prepared well for the meeting yesterday thinking through their likely issues, and as a result we had a good meeting, and tomorrow I need to start thinking about writing a proposal.
